Year 4 - Art and design
Recording, noticing, and caring: responding to nature and the planet
Pupils will look at the theme of fossils as a starting point for this unit. They make and abstract a drawing of a fossil using chalk pastels and charcoal. Pupils design and make a 3D fossil of the future sculpture using the casting process and design principles.
You will learn to use creativity and design to imagine hopeful futures for people and the planet.
Art can encourage viewers to consider how their actions today might shape tomorrow. A mix of plastic and natural materials could be discovered by future geologists, similar to fossils.
when different parts work peacefully together.
