A stylistic approach develops Action-Space-Dynamics-Relationships to study dances from other times and places reviewing how and why motifs are repeated and developed. Pupils develop an understanding of the impact of accompaniment, landscape and other design features on action content.
You will learn to use a variety of formations when performing a dance.
Move: performing actions to correspond to the music demonstrates musicality. Move: performing in time as a group can be helped by one person counting aloud.

Mistake: Pupils think that all dance formations involve facing forwards, side by side. Correction: In traditional dances, the performers typically look straight ahead, but the formations may involve people being side by side, one behind the other, in a circle or sometimes something different such as a star, a square or a double circle.
