The elements of art
Pupils will develop an understanding of the basic elements of art and learn how artists use these elements in different ways in their work. In the unit, pupils will answer questions as they look at the elements through a variety of processes to identify how they are used in different art forms.
You will learn to identify and draw different types of lines and know how they are used in art making.
Line is used in mark-making. Mark-making can be used to create texture.

Mistake: Line is only used for drawing. Correction: Artists create and apply lines in a multitude of ways across different mediums including sculpture and painting, as well as in drawing.
