The elements of art
Pupils will develop an understanding of the basic elements of art and learn how artists use these elements in different ways in their work. In the unit, pupils will answer questions as they look at the elements through a variety of processes to identify how they are used in different art forms.
You will learn to identify different types of tone and add tone in your drawings.
Tone indicates how light or dark something is. Tone can be organised into groups of lights, mid tones, darks.

Mistake: Tone is all about smooth blending. Correction: Tone can be captured in a variety of ways and mediums.
