Prophethood: how are Abrahamic faiths connected through prophets?
This unit will deepen pupils' understanding of the concept of Prophethood in the Abrahamic traditions. Using a theological lens, pupils will investigate the ancestral stories that form a point of connection between Christians, Jews and Muslims. They will analyse similarities and differences.
You will learn to explain the significance of Muhammad as the Seal of the Prophets in Islam.
The Prophet Muhammad does not appear in Jewish and Christian scriptures. Muhammad received the Qur'an, which Muslims believe is the perfect word of God.
a title given to show respect.
Mistake: Pupils might think that Muhammad communicated directly with Allah. Correction: Muslims believe that Muhammad was given the revelation of the Qur'an via an angel.
