Promotions do not always offer the best value for money. Advertisements often use data to make their point.
Proportion is a part to whole (sometimes part to part) comparison. Use this word when showing your method, then check your final answer is reasonable.
Mistake: Pupils may think that it is always best to buy a 'deal' as deals are always a good thing. Correction: Throughout the lesson it is demonstrated that a deal or promotion may not always be right for every customer. Is a deal worth it if you don't need to buy that much?
