Unit Summary

This unit revisits 'ser' versus 'estar', regular and irregular comparative adjectives, adjective-noun number and gender agreement, forming the present continuous, reflexive pronouns, personal 'a', direct and indirect object pronouns, and gustar-type verbs.

You will learn to use -ar verbs in the 2nd person to talk about what is happening now and correctly use the direct object pronouns 'los' and 'las' to describe weekend activities.

  • When strong vowels [a], [e] and [o] appear next to each other they are pronounced separately, in different syllables.
  • The second person singular of 'estar' is 'estás' and the 2nd person plural is 'estáis'.

  • To mean 'them' when referring to a plural feminine object, use the direct object pronoun 'las' before a verb.
