Year 1 - Art and design
Create a flower garden: introducing the 7 elements of art
Through hands-on activities, pupils will experiment with different making techniques and materials to create artworks based on the 7 elements of art. Pupils will gain a deeper understanding of how artists use the elements within their artworks.
You will learn to observe the lines and shapes within flowers.
We can observe real objects carefully and make line drawings to record what we see. Artists might not create drawings that look exactly like the real objects they are observing.
to look at something carefully and notice details about it.
Mistake: Drawings always have to look exactly like the object the artist is observing. Correction: Drawing exercises focus more on artists using their eyes to carefully observe lines and shapes, rather than trying to create a drawing that looks exactly like the object.
