Create a flower garden: introducing the 7 elements of art
Through hands-on activities, pupils will experiment with different making techniques and materials to create artworks based on the 7 elements of art. Pupils will gain a deeper understanding of how artists use the elements within their artworks.
You will learn to use a range of textures to create clay flower tiles.
Know that flowers, seeds and leaves might have more than one texture which an artist can depict with clay. Artists can press objects into clay to create impressions, but they can also sculpt different textures from clay.
how something feels when it is touched.
Mistake: Texture can only be shown with drawing or painting. Correction: Remind pupils that artists might choose to use clay to represent textures as it can show a wide range of different surfaces.
