Ball skills: pushing and striking
The unit will challenge pupils to keep control of a ball using a racket or bat. Pupils will explore and develop their movement competence when striking or pushing a ball accurately. Pupils will be able to apply their understanding of accuracy and space whilst engaging in a variety of games.
You will learn to push and strike the ball accurately with a racket towards a target.
Move: aiming by pointing the racket head in the direction of the target, helps increase the accuracy of our strikes. Move: pushing and striking the ball accurately towards a target helps you win a game.

Mistake: Pupils underestimate the importance of following through with their racket when pushing/ striking the ball. Correction: Explain to pupils that the follow through is important for accuracy and getting the right amount of power.
