Communities: what does it mean to belong?
In this unit pupils will explore the idea of belonging to a religious community through case studies of Jewish and Christian families. They will hear from different Jews to see that Shabbat can be marked in diverse ways and understand that churches can take many forms in Christianity.
You will learn to explain how people can belong to a range of groups.
People can belong in many different ways. We can belong to a school, a family, a religion, an ethnicity or a club.
the feeling of being accepted, respected, safe and valued within a group.
Mistake: There is only one way to belong. Correction: Belonging can look different in different places and with different people.
