Communities: what does it mean to belong?
In this unit pupils will explore the idea of belonging to a religious community through case studies of Jewish and Christian families. They will hear from different Jews to see that Shabbat can be marked in diverse ways and understand that churches can take many forms in Christianity.
You will learn to explain how people from different beliefs show they belong to a community.
A community is a group of people who work, live or share interests together. Some Christians wear a cross to demonstrate that they belong to their faith.
a group of people who care for and help each other.
Mistake: That a person can only be part of one community. Correction: We can belong to multiple communities, such as our family, school, faith or clubs.
