In this unit pupils apply prior knowledge of irregular verbs, question-forming with question words, indefinite adjectives, interrogative adjectives and demonstrative adjectives. They will also deepen their understanding of relative clauses and learn how to form the imperative.
You will learn to ask about workplaces using 'what' and 'which' questions in the perfect tense and respond using 'this' and 'that' with nouns.
To ask perfect tense questions using question words, add question word before the inverted auxiliary verb. Use interrogative adjectives quel, quelle, quels, quelles to ask 'which?'.
asks a question about a noun, translated as 'which' or sometimes as 'what'. Say or write it in a short sentence so you use the word actively.
Mistake: [qu] is pronounced the same way in French as in English. Correction: In French, [qu] is always a hard sound and must be carefully practised in order to ensure clear communication with French speakers.
