Year 10 - French
My personal world: Ma famille
This unit revisits definite, indefinite and partitive articles, possessive adjectives, as well as adjective agreement and positioning rules. Pupils will learn one further adjective agreement rule. Lessons also further practise liaison and silent final letters.
You will learn to use articles to determine part or whole and possessive adjectives to say who things belong to.
Gender and number determine the words for 'a', 'the' and 'some' in French. 'Un, une' (indefinite article) describe 'whole' things, and 'du, de la, de l'' (partitive article) 'parts' of things.
shows who something belongs to. Say or write it in a short sentence so you use the word actively.
Mistake: Plural possessive adjectives agree with gender. Correction: Plural possessive adjectives only agree with number.
