Year 10 - French
My personal world: Ma famille
This unit revisits definite, indefinite and partitive articles, possessive adjectives, as well as adjective agreement and positioning rules. Pupils will learn one further adjective agreement rule. Lessons also further practise liaison and silent final letters.
You will learn to describe family members and relationships using a range of articles, possessive adjectives, and gender and number agreement of nouns.
'Moi-même', 'toi-même', etc. emphasise a person's involvement in an action and are translated as myself, yourself, etc. It is important to plan the ideas, the vocabulary and the grammar to be included when writing a longer text.
pronominal adjective meaning 'same', e.g. 'la même personne'. Say or write it in a short sentence so you use the word actively.
Mistake: You can just learn set sentences by heart and produce them mechanically when requested. Correction: Both writing and speaking must be adapted to the question and have a level of personalisation and spontaneity.
