Year 10 - Physical education
Invasion games: tactics and strategies in tchoukball
This unit explores a variety of tactics and strategies that can be transferred from other team games to tchoukball. Pupils will be challenged to demonstrate and develop their integrity by showing good moral principles playing without an official.
You will learn to shoot on target and rebound your opponents shots to deny them a point.
Move: a combination of power and accuracy is achieved with a strong and precise throw. Think: a jump shot that lands in the forbidden zone is illegal.
semi-circular 'D' areas around each rebound frame where players cannot step.
Mistake: Pupils always use the same type of shot. Correction: Just throwing the ball harder at the rebound frame increases the risk of a fault from failing to hit the target but is also very predictable for the opposition. Therefore vary your angle, speed and deception applied when shooting.
