Year 11 - Art and design
Curating an exhibition
This teacher-led unit concludes the course with a physical or virtual exhibition. Pupils, having been introduced to curating, will select work based on quality and criteria, explore presentation, and mount and frame their pieces.
You will learn to experiment with reproducing and curating your own artwork.
Artists can reproduce their work through prints, postcards, and limited edition prints. There are many examples of artist's reproducing their work in different ways and across different times and places.
a copy of an original artwork that allows more people to see it.
Mistake: Reproduction is only possible with a photocopier/printer and reproductions are not as valid as originals. Correction: Hand-made reproductions (drawn, traced, collaged, reinterpreted) are also valid artistic processes.
