Year 11 - Design and technology
Iterative Design Principles
In this unit pupils will reflect and build upon designing and making principles to which they have been introduced previously. this will be assessed in the Non-Examined Assessment
You will learn to use a variety of methods to develop your designs during your iterative journey.
Feedback and evaluation can be used to inform iterations. Design requirements need to be considered when iterating ideas/designs.
refining and improving.
Mistake: Pupils often already know what they want to design and feel that their first prototype is the final solution that doesn't need further development. Correction: The iterative journey transforms an idea into a successful product. Pupils should carefully explore, experiment, test, and develop ideas while keeping design requirements central to the process.
