Spoken language masters: refining public speaking skills
In this unit, pupils develop their confldence in delivering speeches. They first focus on finding a topic for a presentation, before building confidence and stronger vocal techniques. They finally deliver their presentations.
You will learn to consider how the use of your voice contributes to the effective and confident delivery of a presentation.
It is important to consider and present an appropriate tone for the topic of your speech. Tone is conveyed differently in spoken language, using facial expressions, body language and voice.

Mistake: I can effectively practise my presentation in my head. Correction: Although it is good to think about your presentation, you will need to practise delivering it out loud. This will give you a much better idea of timing and pace.
