Economic futures in the UK
This unit teaches economic change in the UK. Pupils will learn about the causes of economic change and the move to a post-industrial economy. Pupils will learn about economic developments in rural areas, developments in transport, the north-south divide and the role of the UK in the wider world.
You will learn to describe how industry can both negatively and positively affect the physical environment.
Industrial development can have negative impacts on the environment. Newer industries can be more sustainable.

Mistake: Only manufacturing industries harm the environment. Correction: All sectors of industry have the potential to harm the environment, though manufacturing continues to be highly wasteful.
