This unit teaches pupils about the causes and challenges of rapid urban growth. Pupils will learn about the trends and causes of urbanisationand will study how cities change over time.

There are a variety of urban land uses. Urban land uses (commercial, industrial and residential) have different characteristics.

Mistake: House prices will decrease the further one gets from the CBD. Correction: The price per square metre may decrease as one moves further from the CBD, but as homes get larger with that distance, one cannot say that they get cheaper overall.
