This unit will examine the benefits of participating in physical activity and sport on health, fitness and well-being to include physical, emotional/ mental and social factors. It will also explore the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle and implications of ill health.
You will learn to identify the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle and explain how obesity affects physical, mental and social health.
A sedentary lifestyle can lead to weight gain, obesity and related health issues like heart disease and diabetes. Poor sleep, low self-esteem and lethargy are common consequences of inactivity.
