In this unit pupils will use known facts to find multiples of ten that compose 100 and use known facts to find complements to 100. They will add and subtract multiples of ten, bridging 100.
You will learn to find multiples of 10 that total 100.
There are 10 tens in 100. Knowledge of bonds to 10 can be applied to multiples of to 10.
You can compose larger numbers from smaller numbers. Use this word when showing your method, then check your final answer is reasonable.
Mistake: Pupils lack fluency in pairs for 10 and so struggle to connect this to 2-digit numbers. Correction: Promote fluency through games and chants and consider providing a scaffold of pairs for 10 which will help pupils develop automaticity.
