Year 4 - Art and design
Local landscape : painting
Pupils will study a local landscape artist and make photographic records of natural or park scenes. This could include natural elements within a built environment. They will learn some basic landscape painting techniques and apply them to their own personal landscape painting.
You will learn to use tints, shades and a variety of paintbrush techniques to achieve different effects.
Artists can create tints and shades that they see within a landscape. Tints are made by adding white to a hue of colour, while shades are achieved by adding black.
created by adding white to the original hue of colour.
Mistake: A paintbrush can only be used for one effect. Correction: Remind children that a paintbrush can be used to create many different effects, such as dry-brush and wet on wet.
