Year 6 - Art and design
Creative careers: critical and contextual
Pupils will learn about different jobs within the creative industries. They will investigate and find out what a range of individuals all do in their day to day lives. They will carry out research and record their findings in creative visual formats working to the theme of 'festival'.
You will learn to create a makeup design inspired by a festival of your choice.
A makeup artist is a professional who applies cosmetics and other products to enhance or transform a person's appearance. Mood boards can be used by makeup artists to gather ideas to inform their design.

Mistake: Makeup is only used to cover imperfections and cannot be used to tell a story, represent a theme or have fun with one's appearance. Correction: Remind children that makeup is much more than decoration. It is a powerful way to express identity, emotions and celebration, and it helps bring people together in shared joy and creativity.
