Year 6 - Geography
Around the world in 80 days: what have we learnt about our world?
This unit revisits key geographical themes through a global journey. Pupils explore news stories, regional features and environmental issues across all continents, using maps, data and fieldwork skills to reflect on what it means to think like a geographer.
You will learn to reflect on and discuss how geography helps us to understand the world and how it works.
Geography is happening all around us every day. News stories often have geographical causes and geographical impacts.
A supply chain is all of the stages involved in producing goods, transporting them and selling them to customers.
Mistake: Geography is something that happens in other parts of the world not in the place where we live. Correction: Investigate the geography in local news stories as well as stories from elsewhere in the UK and other countries.
