This unit will challenge pupils to apply their knowledge and skills into a series of competitions. Pupils will experience competition across multiple areas of athletics and will have to work individually and collaborate together in teams to apply the correct techniques in order to be successful.
You will learn to take part in an athletics competition which involves running, throwing and jumping events.
Move: to do our best in an athletics competition, it is important to perform with the correct technique for all events. Think: reflecting on our performances allows us to identify strengths and weaknesses so we can perform better.

Mistake: Pupils only focus on winning and become disappointed if they don't win. Correction: Encourage pupils to be motivated to try and win, but to understand that performing to the best of their ability and enjoying themselves is what they need to aim for.
