Athletics: athletic challenges refined
This unit will challenge pupils to apply their knowledge and skills into a series of competitions. Pupils will experience competition across multiple areas of athletics and will have to work individually and collaborate together in teams to apply the correct techniques in order to be successful.
You will learn to run as fast as possible when taking part in a competition.
Move: when sprinting, making sure we have accurate head, arm and leg technique helps us run quicker in a competition. Move: when receiving the relay baton, our hand is behind us, palm up and we start to run before receiving it.

Mistake: Pupils believe that winning is everything and become disappointed if they fail to win every race. Correction: Encourage pupils to focus on personal improvement, teamwork and enjoying themselves.
