Year 7 - Geography
Geography: what makes a geographer?
Pupils will use atlases, maps and globes to develop their locational knowledge of the world. Pupils will focus in on specific places to develop an awareness of how geographers examine place. OS maps and GIS will be used alongside fieldwork to build pupils' procedural knowledge.
You will learn to present survey data using a range of data presentation techniques.
Fieldwork data can be presented using graphs and maps. Where a comparison is needed, the data presentation technique needs to allow any comparison to be seen.
Data presentation is the graphical way that data is shown to help the reader better understand it.
Mistake: The purpose of data presentation is to make the data more attractive. Correction: The purpose of data presentation is to allow geographers to identify patterns and relationships in the data.
