Unit Summary
Pupils will use atlases, maps and globes to develop their locational knowledge of the world. Pupils will focus in on specific places to develop an awareness of how geographers examine place. OS maps and GIS will be used alongside fieldwork to build pupils' procedural knowledge.

- continent: A continent is a large land mass on Earth and there are seven: Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Oceania.
- ocean: An ocean is a very big area of salt water between the continents.
- scale: The scale on a map shows what size the area that is represented on the map really is.
- latitude: Lines of latitude are imaginary lines on Earth showing position north or south of the Equator, measured in degrees.
