Health and wellbeing: long term benefits of physical activity through circuits
This unit will explore the correct technique for body weight exercises along with an understanding of how to adapt and modify stations to ensure a training benefit. Pupils will learn about the physical, mental and social benefits of physical activity and how to ensure they are safe when training.
You will learn to independently plan, set up and take part in a safe circuit training session.
Move: exercises are completed safely at a controlled pace and using the correct technique with good body alignment. Think: circuit training can be tailored to specific muscles and have a specific component of fitness or sport focus.

Mistake: Pupils think they should just include their favourite exercises in their own circuit. Correction: Exercises should be selected and used to target and imporove specific areas of weakness, e.g. certain muscle groups, a components of fitness or a sport specific skill you need more practice at.
