Inclusive sports: teamship, communication and awareness of others
This unit explores how to measure success beyond the outcomes of competition, how to balance competition, and how to ensure games are inclusive, respectful, supportive and engaging for all. Pupils will develop their teamship skills through improved communication, empathy and awareness of others.
You will learn to contribute to and participate in the planning and leading of an inclusive tournament.
Move: taking a deep breath before throwing or serving relaxes the body and helps to maintain accuracy under pressure. Think: officiating with integrity and without bias in a tournament prevents conflict occurring.

Mistake: All tournaments must focus solely on the outcome/winner of competition. Correction: In order for all participants to feel included, tournaments can take many forms and be adapted so that everyone can enjoy an appropriate level of challenge.
