Templates in textiles: hand puppets
This unit develops pupils' knowledge of the characteristics of non-woven fabrics and their joining techniques. Pupils analyse the techniques used to make fabric products and then apply this knowledge by designing and making a fabric puppet.
You will learn to identify different types of puppets and how they are made.
There are many different designs of puppets for different purposes. Disassembling puppets allows designers to look at the stitching techniques.

Mistake: All puppets are made the same way using the same materials. Correction: Puppets can have different purposes/uses. Some use lollipop sticks, others have strings move each part. Puppets are used for storytimes, playtimes, concerts and on TV. Some talk with help from their puppeteers.
