Year 1 - Music
Compose and create: high and low melodic responses
This unit uses a simple call and response song and a theming around fruit to inspire short compositions. Pupils learn two rhythms (Ta and Ta-di) and two notes (so and mi) and combine these to create fruit-inspired compositions which they perform as part of the call and response song.
You will learn to perform your composed melody as part of a call and response song.
When we perform we are sharing our musical work with others. Rehearsing helps us to feel prepared for a performance.
presenting our work in front of others.
Mistake: Rehearsing isn't important. We can just do it if we have time. Correction: Rehearsing helps us to practise and prepare, so our performance can be successful.
