Year 1 - Physical education
Outdoor adventurous activities: working with others
This unit will explore how to work with a partner and then within a team. Pupils will learn the importance of turn taking, fair play, following rules, and how to adjust a game so that everyone feels they can succeed and have fun.
You will learn to send and receive equipment and be fair when taking turns with a partner.
Move: foccusing on the object we send and receive produces successful passes. Think: deciding how hard or soft to send equipment will ensure an accurate pass.
giving something your full attention.
Mistake: Pupils throw equipment too high or throw overarm, and then blame their partner for being unable to catch it. Correction: Encourage underarm throwing with a gentle force to help ensure all partners can catch and succeed.
