Year 1 - Physical education
Outdoor adventurous activities: working with others
This unit will explore how to work with a partner and then within a team. Pupils will learn the importance of turn taking, fair play, following rules, and how to adjust a game so that everyone feels they can succeed and have fun.
You will learn to successfully send and receive equipment as part of a team.
Move: accurate passes are made with suitable force and good control. Think: ongoing reflection and making changes ensure team success.
how hard or soft we make a pass.
Mistake: Pupils throw the ball up too high or throw overarm and then blame their partner for being unable to catch it. Correction: Encourage underarm throwing, using gentle passes so the ball makes a rainbow shape in the air. Remind pupils that teamwork requires all individuals to work together and encouraging others.
