Papers and boards
Pupils learn about biomimicry and innovation. They will learn how to use sources of inspiration to create a range of ideas for a product encouraging children to grow vegetables. The pupils will develop ideas and manufacture a prototype. Variation allows for different material outcomes.
You will learn to use CAD/CAM safely to manufacture designs.
2-dimensional computer-aided design can be used to design accurately for manufacture. Laser cutting is a form of computer-aided manufacture.

Mistake: Only 2-dimensional products can be manufactured using a laser cutter. Correction: Lamination can be used to create more curved and organic shapes or to create strength in an object.
