This unit unpicks the many factors to be considered to prevent injury in sport. It focussess on the effective delivery of both warm up and cool down components of training.
You will learn to identify different sporting injuries and suggest how to treat soft tissue injuries.
Concussion is the sudden but short-lived loss of mental function that occurs after a blow to the head. A fracture is a partial or complete break in a bone that occurs when subjected to more force than it can withstand.

Mistake: RICE is the treatment required for all injuries. Correction: RICE in only suitable for soft tissue injuries such as strains and sprains. For other types of injuries , other types of medical care should be sought.
