Ball skills: passing, dribbling and scoring
This unit will challenge pupils to use their dribbling, passing and receiving skills to keep possession and score. Pupils will develop their accurate underarm throwing and explore throwing overarm. Pupils will apply these skills in a variety of activities as they develop their motor competence.
You will learn to pass and receive the ball with control using your feet.
Move: passing the ball requires placing the non-kicking foot next to the ball and kicking with the inside of our foot. Move: cushioning the ball with the inside of your foot enables you to receive the ball with control.
gently stopping the ball so it doesn't bounce away.
Mistake: Pupils just stand still when receiving the ball, not understanding the importance of positioning. Correction: Encourage pupils to understand the importance of moving towards the ball and getting set when receiving it.
