Year 4 - Geography
Local area: what needs changing?
This unit develops pupils' fieldwork and enquiry skills through a local investigation into change. Pupils use maps, tools and data to explore how their area is changing, collect and present information, and reflect on possible changes in the future.
You will learn to gather data and record it accurately through fieldwork.
Some data, like the location of local services, can remain the same for a period of time. Some data, like traffic counts or temperature varies from hour to hour.
Evidence is a fact or piece of information that helps to prove that something is or is not true.
Mistake: Children might think these results will be permanent. Correction: If time allowed you could repeat the fieldwork on a different day, or send groups out a different times then compare the results.
