Health and wellbeing: mindfulness, meditative balances and relaxation techniques
This unit will focus on exploring positive and negative emotions and managing them through using mindfulness techniques such as visualisation, meditative balances, mime and deep breathing. Pupils will understand why these techniques are important for a healthy mind to support our overall wellbeing.
You will learn to combine mime with meditative balances to help you deal with negative emotions and you can use positive feelings to try and combat negative feelings.
Move: mime sequences combined with meditative balances require movements and stillness to portray different emotions. Move: to improve our mime and meditative balance sequences, the actions must flow.

Mistake: Pupils struggle to relate to some of the negative emotions explored in the lesson and therefore don't see the benefit of practising the mime and meditative balance sequences. Correction: Explain to pupils that it is important to practise and understand the benefits so that we are prepared for future challenges in our lives.
