Year 5 - Spanish
What I and others do: AR and -ER singular and plural verbs
This unit develops pupils' verb knowledge. Pupils use singular and new plural forms in various contexts, including the languages classroom, a fundraising event, daily activities, a dream scene and Las Fallas festival. They use negation and conjunctions 'también' and 'pero' in extended sentences.
You will learn to say what we do and what she, he, it does at Las Fallas.
To say 'we' with -ar verbs, remove the -ar ending and add -amos. To say 'she, he, it' with -ar verbs, remove the -ar ending and add -a.
Spanish conjunction meaning 'but'. Say or write it in a short sentence so you use the word actively.
Mistake: To say 'we' with -ar verbs, we add -amos to the infinitive. Correction: To say 'we' with -ar verbs, we first remove the -ar ending and then add -amos.
