Year 7 - Computing
Using media to gain support for a cause
During this unit, pupils develop their understanding of information technology and digital literacy skills. They will use the skills learnt across the unit to create a blog post about a real-world cause that they would like to gain support for.
You will learn to create a microblog post and use a rubric to assess the quality of your blog post.
Microblogs are short-form blogs used for brief, frequent updates. Assessment rubrics provide clear criteria for evaluating blog post quality.
a type of short-form content on social media platforms, typically consisting of brief posts, often with links, images or hashtags to engage the audience. Add one real device or system example to prove understanding.
Mistake: A rubric is just a checklist for the teacher. It doesn't help me write better blogs. Correction: It's a guide to help you understand what makes a good blog post. It shows you the specific criteria, like clear writing or effective use of images, so you know what to focus on. Use it as a tool to improve your writing before submitting your work.
