Year 7 - Computing
Using media to gain support for a cause
During this unit, pupils develop their understanding of information technology and digital literacy skills. They will use the skills learnt across the unit to create a blog post about a real-world cause that they would like to gain support for.
You will learn to select appropriate images whilst ensuring you comply with copyright and licensing restrictions.
Images should be selected appropriately for their context. Copyright law and Creative Commons licences govern the use of online content.
The right given to the creator of a piece of work to control how it can be used. Add one real device or system example to prove understanding.
Mistake: If I find an image online, I can use it however I want, as long as I don't say I created it. Correction: Just finding an image online doesn't automatically mean you can use it freely. Think of it like this: someone created that image, and they have rights to it, just like an author has rights to their book.
