Year 7 - Physical education
Invasion games: basic tactics to overcome opponents in donor sports
This unit explores tactics to overcome opponents with a focus on keeping possession of a ball either in hand or at your feet. Pupils will learn how to move on and off the ball to create space, to create options and to outwit others in 'donor' sports and scenarios that can be applied to many sports.
You will learn to maintain possession with effective support from teammates.
Move: moving into space, away from defenders to offer a pass to the ball carrier, enables our team to keep possession. Think: creating a triangle of options for the ball carrier increases the chance of maintaining possession.
the way you set up players on the court or pitch when attacking or defending.
