Pupils will use disassembly to investigate an existing piece of flat-pack furniture, including material sources. They will use this information to inform designs. Pupils will focus on user-centred design to create and develop ideas and then plan the manufacturer for a product.
You will learn to conduct market testing and analyse the feedback to inform an evaluation.
Once a prototype is completed, evaluating your prototype and design is important. Designers need to gather other people's opinions rather than just their own.
to judge how a product meets the chosen criteria.
Mistake: The final evaluation is based upon the designer's perspective of the prototype and design process. Correction: Testing and evaluations from the user and target market are essential to ensure the product meets the clients needs but is also commercially viable.
