Year 2 - Art and design
Maps to explore identity, journeys, and imagination.
In this unit, pupils explore how maps can be used in a different way by artists, to tell stories about who we are and where we've been. They will create their own personal maps, think about identity, places and people that are imporant to them and journeys they make.
You will learn to use colour and shape expressively to show people moving and places changing.
Artists use different techniques to show movement and change in their artwork. Artists express change or movement both between different places and within the same space.
shapes, colours, and lines to show ideas or feelings.
Mistake: Pupils may think that all art is still and that it doesn't show movement. Correction: Artists have lots of ways to show change or movement such as using lines, colours, and even how they arrange things in the picture.
