Healthy me
This unit covers the importance of exercise, balanced nutrition, and hygiene for humans. It involves performing simple tests, observing closely, and identifying and classifying information. Emphasis is on asking questions, using observations to suggest answers, and gathering and recording data.
You will learn to describe why it is important for humans to look after their teeth.
Personal hygiene is the way we care for our bodies including brushing our teeth. Plaque is a sticky substance made up mostly of the germs that cause tooth decay.
Hygiene means keeping yourself and where you live clean. Include the word in a full scientific explanation, not as a single label.
Mistake: The idea of health only relates to physical health, in particular 'fitness'. Correction: Explanation that there are different ways of staying healthy and the importance of teeth brushing.
