In this unit pupils will use knowledge of place value to represent a 3-digit number in different ways. They will compare and order 3-digit numbers and position on number lines and unmarked number lines.

  • If you can count in 2s, you can count in 20s. The 1s or 10s digit follows the pattern of 2, 4, 6, 8 and 0
  • If you can count in 5s, you can count in 50s. The 1s or 10s digit follows the pattern of 5 and 0
  • When you count up in 25s, the 10s and 1s digits are always 25, 50, 75 or 0
