Year 7 - Physical education
Dance: identity
This unit is a thematic approach drawing upon personal experiences to consolidate and deepen their knowledge and understanding of Action-Space-Dynamics-Relationships to create, develop and analyse ideas, motifs and dances. They will use similarities and differences to form connections and contrast.
You will learn to effectively communicate a range of activities through movement.
Move: applying dynamics to actions can help to communicate a dance idea more effectively. Think: reflecting on how we perform an action enables us to refine our work to project meaning.
communicating the dance idea effectively.
Mistake: When applying dynamics, fast actions are always strong. Correction: We often tend to combine fast actions with strength and slow actions with softness but this isn't always the case. Slow and strong could suggest great effort against resistence, and fast and light actions communicate fluidity and ease.
